George McKinsey and Enos Thomas in same Militia group

Just needed to have a place to put the information sent to me by Bruce Locken:

I noticed an Enos Thomas on the list men being discharged from George McKennie's milita group and that struck a note for some reason. I believe he is an ancestor/contemporary of the Thomas's who ended up in Newberry with George McKinsey.

Note that it is Lewis Moore's Company. What year is this? How old is George? Why are they being discharged?

I found the following on ancestry.com:

Sarah's maiden name was Moore not Thomas

Many of us who research this McKinsey family have used Ruby Mundell Barry's research as our "bible". We came to accept much of what she said as the "gospel". Don't we wish that Ruby could have been here to use all of the wonderful resources that we have today to do our research? If you haven't read her book, you can order it from LDS FHL fiche #6049761. Perhaps omeone reading this blog might type up some of Rudy's book to add to the blog? Ruby called her book: Descendents of George K. McKinsey and his wife Sarah (Thomas) McKinsey of Newberry County SC and Warren, County Ohio and the migrations of their children into Indiana

I spent ten years of researching trying to connect Sarah to a Thomas line anywhere. I didn't work! Then voila! There it was! Sarah's maiden name WASN"T Thomas. Her maiden name was Moore. To see my thought process on this go to:
